On October 27, 1932 the world received Ada L. Dixon to the late Mr. William B. O’Quinn Sr. and Ammie Jackson O’Quinn. She passed away Saturday February 06, 2021 at Flannery Oaks Guest House. She was the eldest of seven siblings to this union. Mrs. Dixon attended Pleasant Green Baptist Church, baptized by the late Rev. Joseph Holmes. Ada went to Simmesport High in Simmesport, LA. She married Walter Dixon Sr. of Yellow Bayou, LA. Together they had a total of thirteen children. Ada leaves five sons: Walter Dixon Jr., of Baton Rouge, LA; Samuel Daniels, of Holly Springs, MS; Lonnie Dixon (Lea), of Frankfurst, Germany; Rev. Joseph Dixon (Roxanne), of Lafayette, LA; and William Dixon (Lashun), of Opelousas, LA. Four girls: Geraldine Dixon Callihan, of Milwaukee, WI; Ammie Dixon, of Baton Rouge, LA; Alice Dixon, of Baton Rouge, LA; and Hannah Dixon Martin (Leeandrew Sr.), of Baton Rouge, LA. Ada leaves thirty-three grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren behind. Ada also leaves two sisters: Hattie O’Quinn McGlaston (Johnnie McGlaston), of Milwaukee, WI; and Thelma O’Quinn Powers (Anthony Powers Sr.), of Milwaukee, WI. Two brothers: William O’Quinn Jr. (Inez O’Quinn), of Milwaukee, WI; and Aaron O’Quinn, of Alexandria, LA. In addition there are a host of nieces and nephews. Adopted sister (Gertrude Davis). Ada is proceeded in death by paternal grandparents: Albert O’Quinn and Ada Taylor O’Quinn. Maternal grandparents: Johnny Jackson Sr. and Ada Jackson. Husband: Walter Dixon Sr. and children: Selena Dixon, Elvis Dixon, Sharon Dixon and Sylvia Dixon Rogers, son-in-laws: Louis Callihan and a host of aunts and uncles. Visiting Friday February 12, 2021 4:00pm-6:00pm at Resting Place Funeral Home. Viewing Saturday February 13, 2021 10:00am until Religious Service at 11:00am at Pleasant Green Baptist Church 3185 Hwy 105 Simmesport,La 71369 conducted by Minister Joseph Dixon Interment in Church Cemetery. Professional Services entrusted to Resting Place Funeral Home.
