David Nickolas Sr. entered eternal rest on Monday February 13,2023 at the age of 94. David Nickolas was born to the late Joseph Nickolas and Queenetta Jones Maze in Erwinville, La. He accepted God into his life and was baptized during his residency in New Orleans. He worked as a long shoreman on the riverfront, and also worked as a landscaper with Nolan Daggs until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being out with friends and family. He also had a knack for giving babies nicknames when he first met them. For instance: Frog Eye, Spider, Ms. Mel, My New, Lil Bug, Project and many more. If you are present, you know who you are. He leaves to cherish his memories 6 daughters: Gayle Williams, Rose Marie Collins, Gwendolyn Mason, Zelda Ann Nickolas, Pamela Jean Mason, and Sharon Lynn Nickolas, 4 sons: Horace Nickolas, Gregory Charles Mason, Michael John Mason, and David Troy Mason, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude English Nickolas, 2 sisters, Corrine Griffin and Lubertha Smith, stepsister Annie May Bell, brother Herbert Mays all of Erwinville, La., and a close friend Ms. Cassie Thornton of Baton Rouge, La., 4 sons: David "June" Nickolas Jr., Joseph Nickolas, R.J. Nickolas, Frank Nickolas, and George Nickolas, that he treated like a son. Viewing Saturday February 25,2023 at 10:00am until Religious Service at 11:00am at Second Baptist Church 3261 S.
