D'Ontae D Bethley

D'Ontae departed this life on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at the age of 18. He was baptized at the age of 6 by Rev. Conway Knighton at St. Mary Baptist Church.

D'Ontae attended the following schools: Hosanna Christian Academy, Kenilworth Science & Technology Academy, McKinley High and later graduated from Second Chance Academy. In his early years he played BREC football with the Rams and Seahawks. While at Kenilworth, D'Ontae participated in basketball and football. He was also selected as the Homecoming King in eighth grade. He had a heart for family and friends and a passion for song writing and rapping. He had plans of getting his CDL and becoming a truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Latoya (Alfred III) Augustus and Brandon Percy of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Dontrell and Dameion Scott, Xavian Barker and Latadrian Thomas all of Baton Rouge; seven sisters, Harmoni Scott, Taylin and A'Laiyah Augustus, Brandyn, Bailee and Naomi Percy, and Tania Augustus all of Baton Rouge; maternal grandparents, Debra (Richard) Wetherspoon of Baton Rouge; Gregory (Patricia) Scott Sr. of Orlando, Florida; paternal grandparent, Bridgette Percy Smith of Baton Rouge; maternal great grandparents, Isabelle (Randy) Davis of Baton Rouge; one great aunt Natasha (Jeremy) McQuarter, aunts, Jeannine (Larry) Rooks, Shannita and Shaneka Percy, Kelsey Smith all of Baton Rouge and Chassagne Scott of Orlando, Florida; two uncles, Rakeem and Akeem Scott of Orlando, Florida; one niece, Mu'Loni Scott of Baton Rouge; Godparents, Russ and Patricia Cain of Baton Rouge; and a host of relatives and friends including extended family, Miyel, Kyisha, Ky'Darrius, Cierra, The Bethley and Lloyd Family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Smith, great-great grandparents, Johnny (Sue) Lamotte and Arthur (Gladys) Leonard great grandmother, Bobby Wells; great grandparents Nolan (Erma) Scott; great grandfather, John Leonard; great aunt, Deidra Scott; uncle, Gregory Scott Jr., and extended family member Loretta L Bethley.

Viewing Thursday March 07, 2024, 10:00am until Funeral Service at 11:00am at St Mary Baptist Church 1252 N Acadian Thruway E Baton Rouge, La 70802 conducted by Rev. Conway Knighten. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Professional Service entrusted to Resting Place Funeral Home.
