On April 8, 2021, God in his Infinite Wisdom made a decision that will never be forgotten but understood by the believers of his will. God dispatched his angels to seal the lips of our beloved Gregory Leroy Clark. Gregory who was affectionately called “Greg” to some was born July 17, 1956 to the late Leroy and Evelyn Clark in New Orleans, La, becoming the oldest of his siblings. He was a Loving Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Deacon who had a strong desire to help everyone he met in life. Greg attended school in Jefferson and St. Charles Parish School System. Once completing high school, he soon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Serving 4 years with a honorable discharge. Upon his returning from serving the greatest Nation in the world, Greg was given the ultimate task of assuming a fatherly role due to his father's earthly transition to help his mother with his siblings. He worked for Security Van Lines, Bekins Moving and Hauling, and Boomtown Casino. Even when his job caused him not to be physically present at home, he made sure his mom and family were financially taken care of. Later in life Gregory started a life together with Lynette Eugene, from this relationship he became the father of seven children. Anika, Geneva, Gregory Jr., Emely, Mervin, Shallnira, and Dominique. After many years, this relationship came to an end, but Greg always kept his children near. As he grew more and life happened, Gregory made the greatest decision of his life....he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at The Oakland Baptist Church. As he grew in Christ the Word of God changed the life of Greg. He became more pronounced in his faith. He knew he was saved and didn't mind telling his story or sharing the word of God with anyone. After the faithfulness of God, Greg joined in Holy Matrimony with the Love of His Life Jean Banks Clark, and he remained faithful and dedicated until called from labor to reward. He began his study of the ministry and later received his Doctorate of Theology from the A. P. Clay Christian Technological College. He was later ordained as a Deacon at the Oakland Baptist Church, under the leadership of his Pastor, Reverend Charles Hurst. His decision to leave Oakland Church was based on his dedication and devotion to his wife, they moved to Houston, Texas so his wife could receive a Heart Transplant. Greg and his wife joined Fellowship of Believers Church under the leadership of Pastor Julian Davis, Jr. which he was extremely proud of, being that Julian was his little cousin. Greg's life was devoted to Christ first and his wife of 20 years who carries his heart. Greg was an attentive and devoted husband and made certain he would personally take care of his loving wife. He spent most of his free time conversing with his children and grandkids making sure they absolutely knew how much he loved each and everyone of them. Gregory will be missed for so many reasons by his family and friends but luckily he found the internet and will forever have his many many post and comments.
