Horace Bailey Sr.

Horace Bailey Sr.  died of natural causes on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Baton Rouge, LA.  Bailey, a retired construction worker and dishwasher, was 88 years old. He was the son of the late Cross and Betsy Bailey and husband of the late Dolores Bailey-Cincore Knight and the father of Iris Bailey Mitchell, Horace Bailey Jr. (late Beryl), Byron Bailey (Mildred),  the late Carlton (Troy) Bailey and stepson, Wesley Cincore (Monique). He was the grandfather of twelve, a  great grandfather of twenty-four, and a great great grandfather of one. Horace, Sr. was also preceded in death by four sisters, Aldonia Bailey, Dorothy Mae Bailey, Alberta Bailey and Annie Mae Bailey-Perry, and four brothers, Louis, Herbert, Clarence (Cleeky), Lawrance (Jimmy) Bailey, and by one grandson, Elgin (Troy) Bailey.  He was also survived by one brother, Howard Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews. A private memorial service and burial will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, in Baton Rouge and Mathews, Louisiana, respectively
