James "Skeeter" Carter

August 28, 1946 — August 10, 2023

King James Carter, affectionately known as "Skeeter", was born on August 28, 1946 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Willie and Augustine Carter. He was baptized at an early age at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He then attended New Prospective Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Lynn Morrison.

King James Carter departed his earthly life and entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2023.

King James Carter loving memories will be cherished by his five daughters, Tarsha (Reginald) Jarvis, Alicia Byrd, Mia Carter and Jiaa Carter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Celeste Carter of New Orleans, Louisiana; one son, Raymond Carter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Aldric Byrd Jr., Ashton Byrd, Ashley Byrd, Evianna Pierre, Lashonda Scott, Raymond Williams, Erin Williams and Raymonish Van; three great grandchildren Amare Sims, Amaya Sims and Amia Sims; two sisters, Carolyn Carter, Geraldine Carter; one brother-in-law, Henry "Hank" Davis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.

King James Carter was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Augustine Carter; two sisters, Diane Carter Hudson and Gwendolyn Carter Davis; one brother, John Carter and one grandson, Kendrick Foster.

King James Carter will always be remembered for his free spirit, cooking, music and love for the New Orleans Saints.
