Janet Carloss entered eternal rest Sunday March 20, 2022 at the age of 66. She graduated from Wisner High School 1974. She enrolled to Grambling State University in the fall of 1975. She served as the Editor of the Gramblinite, the campus newspaper. After graduating college she became employed by the LA School for the Deaf where she earned sign language to help communicate with the students. While working for the LSD, she also became a case manager for Human Resources Foundation, working with individuals with disabilities. She also worked with multiple other organizations specializing in helping youth, those with disabilities, and those who needed help to be reformed to enter back into society due to addictions. In 1993, she transferred to the School of the Blind. Janet's dedication to her staff and her students later earned the position of Residential Director, where she retired in 2014 after 36 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Shirneka (Marcus) Washington, her brother, Sylvester Carloss; her sisters Dorothy Carloss, Delois (Charles Sr.) Lee, Beatrice Carloss, and ; Stepsisters, Eva (Ernie) Powell, Barbara Ann Carloss, and Mary Ann (Ambrose) Norman, Aunts Vina Atkins and Lucy Towels; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Edna Swazer Franklin, parents Rev. Samuel, Jr. and Shirley Mae Wilford Carloss, stepmother Orlea Carloss; brothers Clinton Carloss and Samuel (Earlene) Carloss III; sister Patricia Carloss; stepsister, Annie Hines, one niece, Dione Carloss, and brother in law Lawrence Harris.
