Song of Solomon
2 I am the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house and his banner over me was love. Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please. The voice of my beloved! Behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
On Saturday Morning July 8, 2023 there was a voice from heaven calling the name of our beloved. A premium rose from our family garden was retrieved. God dispatched his beloved angels to finally escort our Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend, Jean Major Clark from this Laboring Life, to the Celestial Shore over in Gloryland. Jean, as she was affectionately called, Won the battle that she fought strongly until the end.
Jean was born July 13, 1954 to the union of Joseph Major and Myrtle Scott Major in White Castle, LA. She was educated in the Iberville Parish School System and worked for Dow Chemical Plant until she became unable, due to her sickness.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Asbury Independent Methodist Church of White Castle where she was a member of the Pastor Support Ministry. Jean enjoyed giving God all the praise. She was respected throughout her church family and community for being the loving and caring woman she was.
On August 27, 1999 Jean’s physical heart was attacked and begin to fail, her not knowing the length of her life, her strong faith never failed. She remained as normal by trusting God through the calamities of this life. It was January 11, 2015, 16 years later, the God she served faithfully, showed himself to be faithful by rewarding her with a Heart Transplant at Methodist Hospital of Houston, Texas.
Within that 16 year period and after, she was joined in Holy Matrimony on July 8, 2007 to the late Gregory Clark. She remained active in church and family events. She made sure whatever she had was given to her children and grandchildren.
