Jerrannia Sherill James

d. April 5, 2021

JerRannia, also known as Jay, Jada, and Nia to friends and family, was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 13, 1999 to Latoya Robins(mother),Chon Houston (father) and Kelvin Robins(father). She was baptized and served at Bible World Christian Center Ministry in Baton Rouge, La. under the leadership of Pastor David C. Griffin and Co-Pastor Gloria Griffin. She sang in the Children’s Youth Choir and later joined her mother in Liturgical dancing. JerRannia graduated from Tara High School in 2017 where she participated in various school activities. She ran track where she displayed brilliancy in speed, capturing first and second place medals; but she loved to dance. She joined Tara High Cheerleader Squad. There she shared her talents of dance, flexibility and her funny and humorous side. She loved to do these dance moves with funny expressions to brighten everyone’s day. Laughter always found JerRannia. She also attended Southern University during her freshman year of college. JerRannia was high spirited with a heart full of love and compassion for others. She would help anyone that needed it even if it meant giving out of her own need. She had a big heart and would love on you, but would also tell you “don’t get it twisted” and put you in your place. We will miss her sayings like “Peoples getting on my nerves, shu-u”, “That’s Ratchet!” and “I got to get home to Magic” – and oh how she loved her dog, Magic and he loves her. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. We all love her dearly. JerRannia leaves mother Latoya Robins, fathers Chon Houston and Kelvin Robins, sisters Miyaleigh Starr Robins, known to her as Sissy and Laniya Houston; her grandmothers Evangelist Leola Herbert and Paulette Houston, her aunts Reba Gaines (Carlos), Aprielle Cummings (Chuck Hunter) Erul Fisher, Barbara Ann Herbert, Alicia Joseph, Bernadette Herbert, Joyce Whittington (Roy) and Betty Mae Brown; her uncles Dusty Garret (Ieshia), Joseph Herbert Jr. (Karen) and Craig Herbert (Sheena) special cousin Gershanna Lundy, and cousins Saintalise and Saintano Laguerre, Jaleial Taylor, Katlyn Garret, Trenton Bennett, Gia and Jace Bellard, her special friend, Marcus Riley and longest best friends Whitney Thomas and Rechard Early, Mentor Minister Melvin Tuggle and a host of other relatives and friends.
