Jerris Betron Cade was a baby boy born on Friday, March 21, 1986, to the union of Jerome and Betty Cade, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was one of three children of the Cade family. Scholastically, he received his formal education in East Baton Rouge Parish attending Istrouma High School. He also studied at the New Orleans Theological Seminary. Being nurtured in a Christian home, Jerris accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1991, and was baptized by Reverend I. J. Webster at Greater New Guide Baptist Church. Jerris was a member of Elm Park Baptist Church where he served as the Minister of Music. Jerris also served as the Director of Music for various ministries throughout the capitol city of Baton Rouge. Jerris dedicated his life to ministry being regarded as one of the most spiritual Ministers of Music amongst all that knew him. He was a firm, resolute leader with a magnetic personality. His goals included being a spreader of God’s word, mentorship, and community relations. He was a vessel of hope who made priceless contributions throughout the city of Baton Rouge. Professionally Jerris was a Gospel Recording Artist known as Ambassador J. Cade. He was the founder of his band J. Cade and Continual Praise where the band recorded multiple live recordings, singles, and albums. He was also employed by East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court Office as a Deputy Clerk. Jerris leaves memories to be cherished by his loving mother Betty Cade; a brother Jerome Cade, Jr (Octavia); a sister LaŃeka Cade; four nephews Travis Glover Jr., Jerome, Xavier, and Tyrus Cade; three nieces Jaya, Ticayha and Tilajha Cade; and a host of other relatives, God Parents, extended family, music ministries, and band members. Jerris passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 and was preceeded in death by his father Jerome Cade, Sr., his maternal Grandparents, and paternal Grandparents Alonzo and Dorothy Pierce.
