Mae Francis Bivens was born May 24, 1950, to the late Hollis and Willie Bea Bivens. She entered eternal rest on February 20, 2023. She was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the Reverend Eddie White at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Scotlandville High School. She then went on to continue her education at Southern University as well as American College where she received a number of certifications in the nursing field. She then pursued a career as a certified nursing assistant until the day she retired. She leaves to cherish in her memory: her five children, Micheal Bivens, Caprice Bivens, Montrell Bivens, Edtroy Bivens (Lenora), and Kentroy Bivens (Felicia), all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; twenty grandkids; sixteen great-grandkids; two sisters, Margaret Bivens Hayes and Beatrice Bivens Ennis, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hollis and Willie Bea Bivens; maternal grandparents, Alvin and Iceol Bivens; three sisters, Shirley Bivens Besser, Patricia Bivens Porter, and Diana Bivens Bauncham; three brothers, Hollis Bivens, Jr., Larry Joe Bivens, and Charles Bivens; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Hayes and Theodore Ennis; and long-time friends, Martin (Rock) Young, Doris Antwine, and Sandra Millican Hart.
