Marsha Ann J. Curry was born in Plaquemine Louisiana on July 20, 1961. She accepted Christ at an early age and was water baptized by the late Reverend Van Smith, Sr. at St. Matthews Baptist Church, Plaquemine Louisiana. She graduated from McKinley Senior High school and attended Southern University. Later in life, she rededicated her life to Christ and continued as a servant of God. In 2009 Marsha attended the Ministry of Love, School of Ministry and received an Associate of Divinity degree. During her life, she wore various hats. A daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and church member. Marsha made an impact on every life she touched. She was unique in expressing herself and the impression she left was lasting. Marsha enjoyed her family and friends. She was full of jokes, bringing humor and laughter. She loved to travel. She never missed an opportunity to travel by car, boat, or plane. If you talked about taking a trip Marsha was attentive, and immediately began to help you with planning it. Whether it was a banquet, birthday party, retirement party, baby shower or gala, Marsha would say “You would be the Belle of the Ball if I wasn’t here.” And she was always the “The Belle of the Ball.” She had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She was enthusiastic about getting to know people. She enjoyed cooking and was always eager to bring one of her favorite dishes. She was excited to share her thoughts and ideas as she was always knowledgeable. If you called Marsha and asked her about something, and she did not know the answer, she would say, “let me call you right back.” She was adventurous and fearless, with an enthusiastic sense of humor! Marsha was a licensed minister, and she took opportunities to share the word of God with those she met along the way. She knew the word and shared it openly and whole heartedly. In her later years as her health began to fail, she ministered more by way of phone. Praying and giving words of encouragement.
