Paul Covington

Known to most as Lil' Paul was born on November 13, 1965, to the union of Leon Davis and Mamie Lee Covington Davis in Independence, Louisiana. He departed this life on Wednesday April 10, 2024, at the age of 58. He was baptized at an early age and later joined Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Leo Cyrus, where he was also joined in holy matrimony on February 15, 2015, to his wife Barbara Ann Wilson Covington. Lil' Paul was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Lil' Paul leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Barbara W. Covington, a son, Bennie Johnson, one maternal aunt, Linda Tucker (Irvin), four maternal uncles; Willie Covington, Robert Covington (Patsy), William Covington (Sally), Winston Shorter (Wanda), eleven siblings; Leon Davis (Kim), Nancy Duncan, Narvin Buggage, Lillie Covington, Willie Covington (April), Leon Covington, Connie Davis, Leon Davis (Samantha), Lashanda Johngan, Juan Boudreaux and Chevron Knight, and one great aunt, Lucille Muse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie Lee Covington Davis and Leon Davis, a sister, Mashanon Marie Davis, a niece, LaQuonda Davis, maternal aunts, Myrtle Taylor, Leslie Josephand Carrie Walker, maternal grandparents, Georgetta Covington Shorter and Willie Shorter, paternal, Ida Perry, Corey Joseph, Mildred Davis and Joe Davis.
