Pearl Mae Dunbar

1952 — March 17, 2025

Baton Rouge

Pearl Mae Dunbar, a radiant soul whose warmth and vitality touched all who knew her, passed away on March 17, 2025, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in 1952, in White Castle, Louisiana, Pearl lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her faith and loved ones.

Throughout her career, she devoted many years of service to Superior Home Health Services, embodying compassion and care in every interaction. Pearl was known for her beautiful smile and a passion for dancing that could light up any room. Her sense of style was unmatchable; she loved to dress up, wearing hats and sun shades even indoors, showcasing her vibrant personality.

Baptized as a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 21 in Sacramento, California, Pearl dedicated her life to her faith, consistently putting God first and eagerly seizing every opportunity to spread His Word. Her spirit was infectious, and her home was always a welcoming haven for family and friends. She treasured her time spent with her husband, Bobby Dunbar, and cherished her children, Schora A Turner, and her adopted daughters, Veronica Bennett and Jacinda Brown.

Pearl's love extended generously to her grandchildren—Tameria Turner, Oliver Turner, Felicia (Jammie Vessel), Darcell Turner, Anthony Brown, Antonique Brown, Larry Hardest—as well as to her five great-grandchildren, Tayvon Turner, London Turner, Aidan Turner, Jacob Turner, and Scyencere Turner. In every family gathering, her laughter rang out, wrapping everyone in a sense of belonging and love.

She is also survived by her stepmother, Evlyn Bennett, her five sisters: Ethel Mae (Johnny Combs), Gloria Mae Cooper, Mary Ann Joseph, Marta (Joseph Stewart), and Georgiana Williams, along with three brothers: Terry Williams, Eugene Williams, and George Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends who have been touched by her kindness.

Pearl is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mark Bennett and Elouis Williams, as well as her brothers Mark Bennett Jr., Robert Williams, Garry Wyne Williams, and sisters Sylvia Brown, Rosemary Bennett, and Elouise Bennett. She was also preceded by her late husband, Warran Turner.

Pearl Mae Dunbar will be remembered not only for her vibrant spirit and lively dance but for the unwavering love she bestowed upon her family and friends. A gathering to honor her memory will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, starting with a viewing at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM on March 17, 2025. Pearl will then be laid to rest at the Resting Place Memorial Garden on April 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and the invaluable lesson that the simplest moments spent with loved ones are often the most precious. Pearl's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
