Robert "Bobby" Franklin Knox

Robert "Bobby" Franklin Knox was born on January 17, 1955, in Baton Rouge, LA; the sixth child of the late Edward & Earline (Jacques) Knox. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Fairfax Hospital Virginia, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 68. He was long-time resident of Alexandria, Virginia. He was christened at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he also attended elementary through middle school. He then attended Istrouma Jr. High for one year before transitioning to his beloved Capitol High School. He excelled in basketball and football at all three schools. After graduating in 1974, he studied at LSU before entering the United States Navy, where he made a career for 25 years. After retirement, he began a subsequent career aiding others, managing a restoration company, where he earned outstanding accolades. He was of service almost until the very end of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters: Diedra Knox (Saginaw, MI), Patricia Knox (Baton Rouge, LA), Harriet Denise Jones (Lake Charles, LA), Elizabeth Benton (Boynton Beach, FL) and four brothers: Edward Knox, Jr. (Baton Rouge, LA), Michael (Sabrina) Knox Sr. (Baton Rouge, LA), Richard Knox (Baton Rouge, LA), and John (Shelbe) Knox (Alexandria, VA). He will also be missed by his nieces, Shira, Nikki (Chris), Kofi, Alea, Chantel, Imani and Evanna, as well as his nephews, David, Kenzi, Nexus, John Jr., Mikey, Jacques, Xavier, and many loving great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. In addition, his long-time companion, Abigail Leak. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Earline (Jacques) Knox, his maternal grandparents; Harriet and Richard Jacques, his uncle, Elliot Jacques, Sr.; his aunt, Leticia Jacques, his sister-cousin Virgie Jenkins and his nephew and niece Curtis and Lisa Truitt. Viewing Friday, March 3, 2023, at 9:00am until funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Myrtle Walk St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Interment with full military honors at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt. Pleasant Zachary Rd., Zachary, LA 70791. Professional Service entrusted to Resting Place Funeral Home.
