Wayne Thomas

Wayne Thomas was born to the late Johnny and Shirley Matthews and was reared by his adoptive parents John and Mary Thomas. Wayne attended school in East Baton Rouge Parish. He was baptized at an early age at Jordan United Methodist Church. He later joined Bible World Christion Center of the leadership of Pastor David and Gloria Griffin. Wayne's passion was working on cars. He worked at AAMCO Transmission for many years until he decided to work for himself. Wayne Thomas departed this life on Sunday February 06, 2022 at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing at the age of 67. Wayne leaves to cherish his memories his five children Baptista Washington, Marquita Washington, Latosha Thomas, DeAshley Thompson, and Natalie Jackson all of Baton Rouge, La, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four sisters; Shirley (Ron) Kelly, Diane (Gedrick) George, Debra Tousant of Baton Rouge, and Gloria Craig of Houston, Tx, one brother Anthony Craig of Baton Rouge, La, one aunt Ada McCastle of Dallas, Tx, Godsisters Valarie Franklin and JoAnn West, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Shirley Matthews and John and Mary Thomas, Grandparents, brother John Wayne, sister Mary, and nephews Amram Gibson and Dequincey Smith.
